Air intake duct and air filter housing — removal and installation
Air intake duct
1. On 6.0L models, remove the intake manifold cover.
2. Disconnect the PCV fresh air inlet hose from the air intake duct and loosen the hose clamp screw at the throttle body (see illustration).
12.2 Disconnect PCV fresh air inlet hoses (A) and loosen the throttle body hose clamp (B) (non-6.0L V8 model shown
3. Loosen the hose clamp screw at the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor (see illustration).
12.3 MAF sensor hose clamps (V8 model shown)
4. On 6.0L models, detach the radiator hose clip from the air intake duct. Pull upwards to disconnect the grommet from the duct at the top of the intake manifold.
5. On all models, remove the air duct by disconnecting from the MAF and the throttle body.
6. Installation is the reverse of removal.
Air filter housing
7. Remove the air intake duct.
8. Disconnect the electrical connector from the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor.
9. Grasp the air filter housing firmly and pull it straight up to disengage the locator pins from their insulator grommets.
10. While the air filter housing is out, inspect the rubber mounting grommets. If a grommet is cracked, torn or otherwise damaged, replace it.
11. Installation is the reverse of removal.
