Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve replacement (V6 engine)
1. The PCV valve is located in the left valve cover on 4.3L V6 and 6.0L V8 engines and in the valve lifter oil manifold (between the cylinder heads) on 5.3L and 6.2L V8 models.
Note: On 5.3L and 6.2L models, the intake manifold is mounted above the valve lifter oil manifold but the PCV valve is accessible at the left front corner of the manifold.
2. Detach the hose from the valve and remove it from the valve cover (see illustration) or the valve lifter oil manifold.

3. When purchasing a replacement PCV valve, make sure it’s for your particular vehicle and engine size. Compare the old valve with the new one to make sure they’re the same.
4. Reverse the removal procedure to install the valve, then reconnect the hose.
